Quartz Sand Filters

Description

Quartz sand filters are used to eliminate suspended solid particles, turbidity and other particles from water. The filter is built with several layers of quartz sand with different dimensions. Besides water purification, it also serves to protect other filtering equipment placed after it. Used as pre-filtration in technological water and drinking water treatment, as well as to reduce turbidity in waters from wastewater purification systems. Particles retained in the filter layer are discharged during the backwash process, renewing the filter material.
